Jewelry Questions

Fashion Jewelry Supplier

Q.How many of you blew your budget around Xmas and now have to pay the piper? What do you do to stop your fashion, jewelry and makeup cravings until Feb. or March when the cash flow improves??????

A.Clothes and shoes: There's no stopping it, especially at the start of a new season. I have to buy anything I like now because it won't be around later. Jewelry: This is really not an issue for me. I'm not a big jewelry person and can get by with what I already have indefinitely. Makeup: Maybe I'll buy a new lipstick, lip gloss or nail polish, but there's no rush. Handbags: No rush here either. I suppose it sounds simplistic to say I just "tough it out." What helps the most is just budget in my *own* purchases ahead of time for the holiday and winter sales. I accept that I will buy stuff for myself anyway, so I prepare for it and and that eliminates most of the problems before they start. Also, I usually use this as *my* Christmas; DH and I talk about how much I can spend, so that takes care of the guilt and the cash flow problems (well, most of the time, anyway. Now, I would be lying if I didn't admit that I nearly always find myself in a position of staring at a Holy Grail *after* I've spent my alloted amount, but that happens all year-round anyway, and it doesn't cause any more problems in January than it does in June of September. I haven't really been getting less stuff (but nothing for Christmas went on credit cards, either - all was cash or debited, so my cash flow is actually essentially the same). I actually managed to keep within budget for Christmas, surprisingly enough, though my boyfriend went over on me; luckily, we both had a lot of extra income for the month, so it worked out well. I have been incredibly focused on warm things - I keep doing searches on sweaters on eBay lately, and coming up with good stuff, and I got the most unbelievable things at the Salvation Army on my last trip ($40 total for two coats, one of which is a lovely old Christian Dior, three sweaters, and a long velour top, all in astonishingly good shape). I have been avoiding beauty products just because I don't need anything new or different right now, just more shampoo and conditioner and soon, more cleanser - I just want to replace things I already have been using. It's too cold to even think about much glamour, anyway. Jewelry I have been making myself, and I've been kind of nuts with it lately! The focus I've had on warm things has helped - my apartment is so drafty with this cold snap that I have to wrap myself in layers of fleece to eBay, so I don't get terribly distracted by anything other than warm things, which I actually do need, and jewelry supplies, which I merely "need". The funny part is that this is actually my favorite time of year for shopping, now that things are on clearance and people just aren't buying - I find the best deals at this time of year. I don't actually buy much when the season, whatever season it is, is new or only partially in swing, as I know things will get marked down and I just can't stomach paying full price for anything, ever!
